MEDIAGIRLS is determined for girls to create their own values of self-worth and identity instead of having these important concepts be influenced by media’s harsh judgments. Participants will each receive a blank female face sketch. One side of the face will be decorated in the form of drawings, colorings, or description words of what media believes girls of their own race are supposed to look like. On the other side, participants will decorate it in terms of what they actually look like or how a real girl looks like. Then on paper plates, participants will discover their own identity and self-worth by writing 8 different positive personality qualities that they identify with.
